A couple of years into planning Bouchercon 2020, we learned that our host venue, the Sacramento Convention Center, would be undergoing renovations during Bouchercon week. Replacing it, we have two convention hotels, the Sheraton Grand (13th and J Street) and the Hyatt (13th and L Street), within a closed-off city street of each other, and the Memorial Auditorium (15th and J Street) is two-and-a-half city blocks from the Sheraton.
Registration will be on the ground (main) floor of the Sheraton, along with the Book Bazaar, where you’ll be able to choose your free books that come with your paid registration. The Book Room (books for purchase) will be on the (main) ground floor of the Hyatt. Panels will take place in both hotels. There is one city street between the Sheraton and the Hyatt hotels. Cars are not allowed on K Street between the hotels.
The Opening Ceremony and the Anthony Dinner will take place at the Memorial Auditorium; handicapped-accessible shuttles will be available to take visitors from the hotels to the auditorium and return them to their hotels. The Anthony Dinner will take place outside on the lawns of the auditorium; accommodations for visitors in wheelchairs, on scooters and with canes will be available at tables around the rim of the lawn.
For those visitor who have service animals, the Sheraton is a pet-friendly hotel.
Enjoy your stay in Sacramento and the surrounding towns, vineyards, museums and parks.
